Introduction
This is an exchange for small businesses and individuals looking for someone the host their secondary DNS server.
With rapid spread of inexpensive cable modems, DSL, and other fast Internet connections in private homes and small businesses, more and more people want to host their own web, email, and other servers.
There's just one problem - to register a domain name most registrars (such as Network Solutions) require you to have two DNS servers, with different IP addresses.
The requirement for two DNS servers has good reason - redundancy.
Many organizations simply put two DNS servers right next to each other on the same power outlet and same Internet connection. Obviously this doesn't provide much redundancy at all.
The recommendation is that primary and secondary DNS servers be placed in geographical different locations. So even organizations with the capability to host their own secondary should really consider exchanging with someone else.
This exchange is only for people/organizations interested in a fair, non-monetary exchange of secondary DNS servers.
This exchange should only be used by those operating their own DNS server on a fixed IP address accessible from the Internet at all times.
Use of this exchange is FREE !
